A few weeks ago I put out a call to anyone that would like to have their blog reviewed for SEO, monetization or and usability. I’m glad to present you with the first review.
The purpose of these reviews is to help you find things you could fix on your blog in order to make it rank better in search engines, get more traffic and give your readers a better experience.
If you would like your own website reviewed, please feel free to submit it here.

In the video I cover a few things and as I do more and more reviews, I’ll build up a library of these things so you can always go back and review previous episodes.
Below you’ll find a quick description of some of the items I covered. If you have any questions, leave a comment below. As more comments and questions come up, I’ll be able to expand this and give you more details.
H1 and Headings. You can use them as much as they need to be used, but don’t over use them. If the content makes sense to be broeken down into multiple H1 sections with various H2 and maybe H3 sections then it could be okay. Here is a better explanation by Matt Cutts from Google.
The other main part about the review is the content. A blog needs content and you need to publish constantly. Once you have a substancial amount of content then you’ll be able to re-arrange sections of your site and menus so it makes more sense.
Also with more content, you’ll have more traffic and you’ll get a better understanding of how your visitors are browsing around your site and help you make improvements based on your analytics. I need to do this now with Papidaddy. I have a lot of content now and I need to give the menus an overhaul for example.
One thing that I need to come back to constantly is simplicity. The simpler you can make your content structure and layout the easier it will be for your readers to consume and easier for you to manage.
