That if you turn a required but mundane, ordinary, annoying or tedious task into something fun, then more people will do it. This can be applied to your kids everyday. And we can create a better world if we approach things with this mindset.
This post is dedicated to my friend Shannon, for the tough times. Hope these make you smile.
I try to make as much of daily life as exciting as possible for Claire. It’s how I keep her engaged in things that seem boring or are more like chores and things-we-have-to-do.
We make a big spectacle of brushing our teeth, washing our faces, etc. Always keep it fun and your life not only will be easier with kids, you’ll have a much better time and relationship with them.
The reason I tell you this today, out of the blue is because I just ran into a video from a while ago that everyone needs to watch. Ironically I was at my old corporate job when I saw this with some of my co-workers.
I know that many minds were touched that day and hopefully watching this video will touch you in some positive way as well. Enjoy The Piano Staircase!
Watch More FunTheory videos and think of how you can make your life more fun and engaging, remember, it’s for the kids ;).
In one video they got people to recycle more often with the Bottle Bank Arcade, pretty clever idea…
And in the theme of keeping the environment around for a little while longer, they also have the World’s Deepest Trash Bin. That was a fun one too!
The best part about the Fun Theory project is that this is changing the world, one little idea at a time. Look at this one, not as heart-touching or feel-good as the other ones, but much deeper. Look at the numbers. I’m all about facts and stats and you can’t lie with the numbers:
The Speed Camera Lottery, could pay you when you follow the speed limit, and the people that don’t follow pay you!
See, it’s all for the kids. Check this one out: The Play Belt. A way to get kids to wear their seat-belts and not take them off. I just found out Volskwwagen is the machine behind The Fun Theory, but I like VW so check them out at The Fun Theory. Every little bit of fun helps!
