This is going to be our second Halloween with Claire and she’ll be just shy of her 2nd birthday. This should be fun. Last year was cute and we loved hanging out with her of course, but this year she is fully mobile, chatty as can be and fully ready to explore.
She’s always ready to explore and I love hanging out with her. I feel like a kid all over again. You know when people say that they’d wish they could be a kid again but know what they know now?
This is the closest you’re ever going to get to that. I get to experience all these things again through her eyes. I wish I could tell you how amazing that is. There are no words to describe the excitement and joy that she gets from little discoveries. And she wants more, she craves more. ALL. THE. TIME.
So Halloween should be interesting. And even though it is still August, as parents we know that even Christmas is close once you hit September. This is the fall rush I guess. Halloween, Thanksgiving, then the collection of religious and religiously inspired holidays and boom, New Year.
Whee, this roller coaster seems to be picking up speed. It used to be when we were our kids age that life couldn’t happen fast enough. And now we just wish it would slow down don’t we?
Helen and I went to Costco the other day and found that they have Halloween costumes, I guess they’ve had them for years but I just never knew or didn’t realize. Maybe I forgot, but who cares? The point is that they have them, and you should go get some.
According to Linda, my guest for Vlog #3, they are going to go Fast so go check them out. They range from 12 to 20 something. We got three, can’t decide which one to keep for Claire. Want to help me? let me know in the comments after you watch the video.
We got a monkey, chicken and a dog. They’re cool, I also show them in the video along with a few other ones.
The second thing I have on the Vlog this time is a little clip I made about an NFL Football Picks Party I went to with Helen. It was a lot of fun but because I was blogging quite a bit, I didn’t shoot a lot of video so I had to get creative.
Hopefully as you read Papidaddy more and more, you’ll see that a common thread is turning problems and challenges into opportunities. It’s easy if you just try. If you are having a tough time then you are probably in the wrong mindset, try being more positive about it, try being analytical, try talking about it to somebody, try blogging, try a new outlet and you’ll find a way to turn a challenge into an opportunity.
The challenge here was clear when I got home. I didn’t have enough video to include everyone that was at the party… I didn’t have enough video to make a vlog about the food even though it was Amazing! I totally messed up and didn’t have enough videos or even photos to fill in some gaps with a slideshow.
So I looked at the few minutes of footage I had and caught a great opportunity to make a funny video. At least I thought it was funny. JP one of the people at the party said some interesting things and I caught them in video. As a good vlogger, I found a way to create something out of nothing. Oh wait, that’s my marketer’s side.
So this is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it.
By the way, I created a trailer for this if you want to see it first. Click here if you want to see that (opens new window). The full episode is titled:
Vlog #3 – Costco Halloween Costumes and NFL Fantasy Football Picks
By the way, if you want to get the videos sooner, like when they become public on Youtube then go subscribe to Youtube. Youtube should alert you when I upload new videos if you are subscribed. What do you think about the Vlogs so far?
