The following is a version of what may eventually turn into my About page. I wrote this before I even launched the website and I have just re-edited it and I think it’s ready for you to read. This is my October invitation. It’s a new Month. It is October 1st and you have just a few short months before January is upon us. Are you going to let another year erode away your dreams?
Little by little you know your soul is taken away. You know each passing day you sit there doing nothing brings exactly the same back the next day.
So this is my invitation. To you, today, right now. To change your life. You are now invited, no RSVP required. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope I can show you some of the ways I’ve been able to make a living online for the past 4 years. Since becoming a dad in 2012, things have definitely changed and I’ve had to adjust and learn and struggle in order to achieve a functional work at home environment and profitable online business… while raising @WaterClaire and being the best Husband I can to my Lovely Wife.
The purpose of this site is to share with you what I’m about and how I’ve come to wrangle all the pieces together to achieve this lifestyle. The key to everything I do is making sure that I run an online business that requires very little of my time. So why don’t I tell you about running an online business now?
What I’d like to do next is give you a quick guide on how you can get started making money with an online business.
Making Money Online
Making money on the internet is a real thing. Millions of people earn a living online and you can do the same. Before you read anything else, please keep in mind and always remember that making money online is like any other business. It takes time, effort, patience, diligence, and a number of other qualities and abilities and actions to run a business and even more so to run a profitable business.
There are lots of ways to make money online. Some methods can yield enough money to pay for your daily habits and needs like coffee, toys, diapers, gas, utility bills and other small bills like that. It is not uncommon for people to make anywhere from $40 to $100 each day online.
You might say, “If I’m only going to make $3000 each month online, then I might as well get a real job and do it that way.”
But first you have to keep in mind that everyone starts somewhere and the beginnings of most online entrepreneurs are humble so don’t be discouraged by the amount of money you make in the first few weeks and first few months.
A critical aspect of building a business online and something you need to remember when working online (at least the ways I’m going to show you), is that as you work on building your business, the efforts you make today will yield results for weeks, months and sometimes years to come.
Can a day job do that? Not likely, unless your 9 – 5 job can pay you recurring passive income months or even years down the line. Some “regular” jobs can do this in the insurance and investing verticals (look for residual income jobs if you’re interested).
Another critical aspect of working from home compared to a traditional corporate job is that you don’t have to spend 8 hours or more each day working. It is possible (even easy, relatively speaking) to make $30 – $50 per day just by working one or two hours each day as you start.
Then overtime, the efforts you’ve put in everyday will start yielding more results. So if you do this right, you will be able to create recurring income. That’s what we call passive income. You do the work once, and it pays many times over. This is the ultimate way of running a business.
Build it once, sell it many times!
So where do you start?
Making money online is the same as making money offline. In theory at least, it is the same thing. You need to offer a product or service that people are willing to pay for, then you need to position yourself to be the person they buy that product or service from.
Mindset and positioning is one of the most important things to take care of when you start a business.
You must have an undeterred mindset and a strong will to follow through. Along the path to success you’ll find discouraging friends, lackluster results, devastating challenges and demoralizing outcomes. Guess what? deal with them and learn to get past all these negative things quickly.
You need to always keep in mind why you are doing this and what the goal is. The ultimate goal here is to buy freedom. The word freedom needs to be in the forefront of your mind as you begin your journey. The money you can make online is great and it continues to grow as you build your business. But the most valuable result of a successful business online isn’t money, or profits. It is freedom.
And please make sure you don’t think I use the word Freedom in any cavalier manner. I’m not talking about the freedom that we have in the “free world” to vote, or speak up. I’m talking about the freedom from the chains of inaction and circumstance. Freedom to live life in your own terms.
I am a champion for the human spirit and I hate to see even one extinguished by the status quo. If you want to change your life, do it already.
When you run a business you are seeking wealth, income, recognition, and other similar things. But the best part about succeeding online is having the freedom to choose. The freedom to choose what to do with your time, the freedom to choose where, when and why you spend your money, and ultimately the freedom to enjoy your family the most.
This is a critical distinction you need to make from a traditional business. I know many business owners that hardly make ends meet and the end of the day. And they have what people think is a successful business. They see a lot of people coming in and out of their store, or they see many of their friends talking about how great their customer service is.
What they don’t know is that the harsh reality for most business owners is that they have trouble even putting food in the table sometimes; despite having an apparently successful business. There’s a quote that gets passed around saying Bloomberg reports 8 out of 10 entrepreneurs fail within 18 months. I actually thought it was much worse, like 9 out of 10 within 12 months.
Why? Overhead. It is not only important to make money, but to keep more of it and invest money back into the business. What good is is it to run a $4000/day storefront if you have to pay out $3200 before taxes!? The only way to do this is to cut expenses or raise prices.
One of those two ways is sustainable, the other one is not always so. We’ll explore those conversations as well.
The idea behind an online business and especially for parents is that the business should be free. Free from a location, free from a schedule and free from income ceilings and limitations on revenue. The ceiling is built by you, and you decide if you are happy making $3000 a month with a small blog or if you want to go on to make $3000.00 per day as some of my friends and clients do.
The choice is yours, I just put the information out there. I put it out there and now you have no excuse. What you have seen cannot be unseen. So the next step for you is to get started. If you aren’t sure, then go and get a website, and an email list and start creating content. A blog, done correctly will bring you money even in ways you never imagined.
If you do those three things, I will help you and answer your questions about how you can turn your passions into profits. That’s it, I wanted you to know what I’m about and I wanted to invite you to follow me, make sure you are following me in email, or RSS, or Twitter, or wherever you prefer. I’m even on Facebook.
I’m just getting started but come October, you’ll be able to follow actionable steps. If you want to venture out and do something now, right now today and get my help then go and get webhosting, get an Aweber account and email me your ideas.
I will help you come up with some solid plans to monetize your idea and turn your website and Aweber list into a money machine.
You do know I’m giving away six months of Aweber for free right?
