In September, this is what I published on the blog. I missed 9 days of publishing but I ended up with a total of 32 posts, 31 mine and 1 from Lisa. I could have miscounted, so let’s say +/-1 that’s still just 1.something per day. Not bad. But I want to increase this to 2+/day. Let’s take a quick look at what I wrote:
Vlog #4 A Day in the Life of Papidaddy and Claire My favorite vlog yet. By number of views on Youtube it is also the readers’ favorite and it’s clear why. It’s all about Claire. Clearly the main reason why you are all here. And here I thought you wanted to learn how to blog for money! 😉
Poll #2 – What do you Want to See More Of? I launched with 25 or more blogposts plus many pages and many more in the making. So this poll really just asks you, my readers what would you like to see more of. Opinion blogposts? Vlogs? or some of the other choices…
Poll #3 Bacon? Really, just a fun poll and I was testing the capabilities and some features on the poll system I’m using. I didn’t want to use the same ol boring “test” or reveal one of the upcoming polls. So as with real life, when in doubt… bacon. Agree?
Income Report July through August 2014 – Of course, the income report that made my heart miss a step much like when I met my Wife. But clearly its not because I’m in love with income reports but the thing that happened was pretty amazing. I must pat myself on the back for this one.
Poll 4: Do you Do What Your Parents Did? I’m researching something for a blogpost and would love to hear what you think about this question and if you don’t mind give me your answer. I’ll run this for a while and share the results and the reasoning for that question.
Problem Solving Through Hands-on Playtime I totally want to get this when I can and when the little one is ready for them which I think is going to be in the next three to six months. I’ll give you a hint. Have you heard of Bo & Yanna? Let me tell you about them…
Don’t Launch a Blog Before you Do This! A bit of a show-off post where I not only advice you to work your ass off before you do this… It pays off in the end as shown by my first income report (even if you think I’m lucky). And you’ll see why.
Someone being Happy Trumps your Urge to be Right That morning I had a realization. An epiphany of sorts and I felt like sharing it with you. I think that this is part of my mission with this blog. To learn how to spread more joy and happiness. #ThisIsImportant
WooHoo. My first Comment. Thank you Mindy! Totally awesome and once in a lifetime-of-a-website moment. The first comment and it’s not the default one that came with WordPress. A legitimate comment and some deserved celebration of it and its author.
Jimmy Kimmel Gets Parenting Advice from Kids. An awesome video where Jimmy goes and asks or suggests totally outrageous things to do with a kid and asks for other kids’s advice in the matter. #must-see
Papidaddy’s First Ever Giveaway Watch in awe as I bribe my way through some social shares and hopefully a rush of people to join my newsletter. Ha, in reality I am giving away some cash and plan on running five more giveaways each one worth slightly more and the las tone should be valued at over $1500 and includes cash. It’ll be a “startup giveaway” everything you need to start a business online. (by the way, this is the first time I mention that and the only time I will until the official announcement so pat yourself in the back for being ahead of the game).
One Needs English Tutors and the Other Just Someone to Talk to A heart warming story about two radically different groups of people coming together for one reason. Because they need each other. You may wonder, like I did, why hasn’t anyone think of this before? I really think this is going to be a “thing” that is going to take off. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a company or startup tackling this very issue.
Life Lesson from my Daughter I’ve been told I overreached with this post by relating my daughter’s experience with my lesson. I don’t think I did, perhaps I’m not a great story teller. I’ll let you be the judge on that one.
This Gave me the Warm and Fuzzies Twitter is a great way to meet new people but it’s getting crowded. I used to get about 80% of my business from Twitter then it was overrun by broadcasters and spammers. It is so nice when you meet someone genuine and even more so when they mention to you that you’ve touched them in some way.
New Daily Chances to Win – You know how I am doing giveaways? Well some of them accept daily entries (the first giveaway did anyway). This means that you could enter multiple times to increase your chance of winning!
Potty Training with M&Ms – This seems to be the number two favorite vlog so far, vlog #5. This is where I show you how I’m helping Claire use the toilet. Don’t worry, it’s all safe and clean, if you know what I mean. I also show a quick view at one of the local parks. I’m experimenting with video editing ok… be nice!
What Should I Review Next – I have a lot of stuff to review and will be releasing the first set of those reviews soon. Not to mention my new Blog Reviews offer that is free for now. So in this case I talked about a few products and posted a poll to see what people want me to write about.
Genesis Bloggers, Stop Leaving Money on the Table – A tutorial blogpost and video to help bloggers monetize a very easy part of their blog. Their footer links. By following this, you’ll be able to change the footer of your blog very easily and change the link. We change the link from a money-sucking link to money-making link!
How to Connect Gravity Forms to Aweber – A tutorial to guide you in connecting Gravity Forms and Aweber. This lets you collect email and names from contact forms, surveys and other interactive forms on your website. The names and emails go directly into the Aweber list that you want and this could open up the doors for you to offer various products to very targeted groups of people via separate lists.
Welcome our first Guest Author – This is a welcome post for Lisa Mason. Lisa comes in as a parent of five and a self made entrepreneur. Her expertise (besides being a mom) is social media marketing and there’s a lot that goes into her resume so why don’t you check out my intro and then read her post too!
Be a Social media Giver, Not a Taker – Lisa’s first post where she talks about how to participate in Social Media. She covers some of the do’s and dont’s and really gets into some of the nitty gritty details. Great post to give you a perspective on using Social Media. So far this is one of, if not the most popular post on the site.
Do you Have Questions? – When I started publishing the vlogs and they got a little bit of traffic I received a rush of questions. On Twitter, and on email so I decided to try making it a thing. So now if you have a question about anything you have seen me do, anything you’ve read on the blog, or anything I talked about or did on any video then feel free to ask me.
Blogging and WordPress Memes for you. It’s Friday! – A total non-sensical post with some memes I created. Or rather emulated. I took the Chocolate Factory Meme and put a bunch of phrases to it related to what I write about. I crack myself up sometimes because some of these made me #lol but I don’t think they were well received. Time will tell and please feel free to judge. I know some of them are a bit obscure, but that’s intended in those cases.
Giveaway Countdown! Coming to an End – A few days prior to the end of the Giveaway I gave an update and also announced new ways of adding entries to the contest to increase the odds of winning. Since it’s random, basic statistics tells you that the more entries you have, the more chances you have of winning.
Video Reviews Introducing the First PapiDaddy Product – A big part of my web-design and web-development business is a small service that I call a discovery session. I won’t get into the details of that here, but one of the items in that discovery session is a website or blog review. That’s worth about $450.00 professionally. Some review places charge up to $1200 or more (USD). So I decided to offer a short 30 minute or less video review of your blog. Take advantage while it’s free and if you want to learn more check out this post.
Time and Activity Report – September – I am trying to keep a lot of notes about what I’m doing. I may or may not turn all of these notes into a specific blogpost. But I think if I post these notes for you then you can tell me if you want to know about any particular item. Maybe you want to know why or how I did something. You’re always welcome to ask that and
Not All Lists Are Created Equal – An introductory post to email marketing and email mailing lists. I talk about Aweber vs Mailchimp and what it means when you use a free service like Mailchimp or Getresponse. Also I had to add a disclaimer on the blogpost about something I said in the video. After a little more reading I thought it’d be fair and honest to add that disclaimer for Mailchimp.
Vlogging. I’m Loving It – I really am enjoying vlogging. I’m spending a lot more time thinking about the story or the shots or just doing more stuff with Claire so I can record more fun stuff. Even though I’m loving it I’m starting to feel that I’m getting a little carried away and getting distracted. They’re great as ways to get mindshare, but they’re not quite money makers yet. I need to find the balance between spending time creating those and focusing more on IGAs (Income Generating Activities).
Why Children Need Us More Than Their Peers – An amazing video about parenting and leadership and why our society is collapsing. Ha! Like my over-dramatic introduction? No, but really this is a great post and although it sounds exaggerated you may find yourself agreeing with most of the points that Gordon Neufeld makes in this video. And just for your convenience I summarized almost the whole thing in bullet points and comments.
Crossfit Toys for Kids Medball and Barbell – A quick post about a pair of toys I received as a gift for Claire. The toys are cool if you’re into fitness and these came at the perfect time. These are great for me to play with Claire and for her to play by herself. They’re colorful, soft, and just plain fun, check it out.
First PapiDaddy Giveaway Winner – Announcing the first ever PapiDaddy Giveaway winner. Enough said!
