Say what?! Can you believe that Halloween is just around the corner? And for my non-American friends, did you know that people here play something called “Fantasy Football”? Those are the topics of the next Vlog, due out tomorrow.
Yup, people get together and fantasize about football players. You know what, to each their own, I just like hanging out. So this was fun and I made a little trailer for tomorrow’s Vlog. Trailer was done 100% with iMovie in about 6 minutes + processing & upload time and of course attending the party. (I don’t think I’ll be doing a lot of trailers, this was just for fun).
Yesterday’s Vlog came out great. I already know I have to adjust my shooting techniques and editing skills a bit. I also need to get better at titles!
I have added a whole credits section to each vlog and will make this the norm (not sure if I mentioned this before). But if you want to see what it looks like, just go to the video directly on Youtube and expand the description to see it all.
Hope you enjoyed it. And I want to give you a quick update on the rest of the site’s progress and launch. I really will need your help promoting, sharing it with your friends, catching typos, catching weird stuff, mistakes, etc. (Great opp to get in the Credits page too… #justsayin).
For those of you following along the case study, you know that I’m ramping up for the bigger launch in Sept 1. As of now, I’ve decided that it is not fair to use ALL of my existing resources to launch this project. It wouldn’t be fair to the readers that want to do this but don’t have the means to have everything done the ideal way.
But I do encourage and teach that when you launch your business, and a blog especially, you do it with everything you have available at your disposal. Pull out the big guns and shoot for the moon. But in my case, it’s a bit different so for each promotion method I chose each time I will consider this before using it:
- Does it fit my budget?
- Is it realistic that the average reader can get their hands on something like this?
- Would using this resource deliberately skew the scales in favor of the case study?
- Will it significantly alter the outcome?
I will ultimately leave it all up to my discretion but I am considering those questions when promoting the blog. This may be why you haven’t heard of it until now but feel like I could or should have reached out to you. If we are Facebook friends, then you should have seen this update recently.
I have decided to set a budget for this project and basically goes like this. Maxium spend is $500.00 to launch and I may use the remainder to promote the site. I will disclose figures and amounts as I go.
One lesson I will be covering is how to find money to fund your venture and in those cases where I apply my own lesson and obtain additional money, I will disclose it as well. This happens all the time. I have canceled services in order to use that money for something else, like cable TV, or other monthly subscriptions.
A quick checklist that I need to go through should cover the basics:
- Email subscription list is finalized. All optin locations functional & tested.
- Social Media share buttons working and tested.
- Comments working and tested.
- Case Study Post Scheduled
- Cash and Prize Contest posts scheduled
I am sure I missed 1000 things to tell you, but Claire is awake from her nap so I must leave you. Look forward to hearing back from you!
