Knott’s Berry Farm Food Adventures
As I mentioned before, we have Knott's passes this year. Check this new column on my blog, Knott's Berry Farm Food Adventures. Boardwalk BBQ Knott's Berry Farm.
But by far, one of the best things about the Knott's season pass is that you can buy an add-on. You can buy a food pass to go with your one day pass, or a food pass for the whole season to accompany your season pass. As a parent, this food pass is a must!
The Knott's Berry Farm dining pass is an addon you can buy for your Knott's Season Pass that gives you access to tons of food for “free” every four hours. I don't know all the details yet so I'm not going to bore you with that, I'll cover that in another blog post if you can't wait, you can read all about it here.
For now, I'll get straight into the food from the last time I went with the kids and family. This is the 3rd episode of Knotts Berry Farm Food Adventures.
Boardwalk BBQ at Knott's
The Boardwalk BBQ is one of the favorite spots available for the dining plan. I have to say that I like it and I'm determined to try everything on the menu here and at all the other locations available for the dining plan.
That's a lot of food! But we gotta start somewhere. Today I will talk about the 1/2 chicken, the brisket and two different sides. Pictured below, you'll see the ribs as well, but I didn't try those yet so for that, just enjoy the pictures.
The way the food pass works, you get one entree, one side and one of their cornbread muffins. My kids love that, I don't care much for cornbread unless I can break it up into a good cup of chili. I'm sure that's an option somewhere in the park.
Let's start with my least favorite of the day. The brisket. The brisket is good, but not great. I think it's a matter of preference because I'm just not a big fan of brisket.
It's cooked fine, but it tends to be a little underseasoned. I think they could do much better, but if you pair it with their mac & cheese, this is still a great choice.
My wife tends to get it because it's one of the leanest options in the menu, and at this particular time, it had just come out of the kitchen so it looked really good. She also likes the plain dish because when you come out to the seating area, they have a number of bbq sauces there including their world-famous boysenberry bbq sauce.
Why does a chicken coop have two doors?
Because if had four doors it would be a chicken sedan.
The half chicken is probably my favorite food so far at Knott's. It's always seasoned perfectly and cooked precisely. It is succulent and juicy. It is perfectly cooked because it is a rotisserie chicken and I think that's one of the best ways to cook chicken.
There is a really good chicken on the other side of the park, near the birdcage theatre in their outdoor bbq spot called Fireman's Brigade. We'll cover that in another Knott's Food Adventure. But this one, the rotisserie chicken at the Boardwalk BBQ, paired with the roasted potatoes, it might just be the perfect dish to be had at Knott's.
Overall, the food at Knott's Berry farm has been great so far. These two choices are from the Boardwalk, but there are so many other places I'll be trying out. Stay tuned!
